Making Sense of AI

UC Irvine is committed to pursuing the promise of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity, drive innovation, and ensure our students and employees are literate and competent on this new class of tools.

Recognizing the initial hesitation and anxiety that often accompany the adoption of new tools, there are already several units planning for activities in the coming academic year (AY). In response, we are recommending a coordination effort aimed to ensure visibility and synergy of activities in engaging our community. This initiative will provide education, training, and support to help our community members understand and integrate AI into their daily tasks and lives. Through hands-on workshops, innovation challenges, unit-led projects, communication & storytelling, and feedback mechanisms, we aspire to cultivate a culture of confidence and enthusiasm around AI, ultimately empowering our workforce to leverage these tools for greater efficiency and creativity.
